Term 1: Ancient Egyptians

So far this term...

Ashmolean Museum

On Friday 23rd September and Tuesday 4th October, half of the class went to Oxford to visit the Pitt Rivers Museum and the Ashmolean Museum to look at their Ancient Egypt exhibitions.

This is what we got up to...

We had a fantastic time and learned lots of fun facts.

Mummies!

'This morning (Wednesday 19th October) we worked in teams and tried to wrap each other up like mummies. It was really difficult to move when my legs were wrapped up in tissue paper! We started at the feet and worked up.' - Ammaar and Brooke

Hanging basket workshop

'Today (Thursday 22nd September) we went to the park and created some hanging baskets. We put some coconut hair and compost in. Then we put some flowers in. They were all different colours and smelled really yummy.' - Beyza, Seth and Sophie

Term 2: Through the Looking Glass

Here we are enjoying recreating our still life art work.

"We are drawing fruit. We used pencils and charcoal - we did the shading underneath and then added colour using colouring pencils. We tried to make it as realistic as possible." - Sapphire and Lily-Mae

Alice in Wonderland Day

Today (30th November) we had a very special day in Year 3.

We all dressed up as our favourite Alice in Wonderland characters and took part in lots of fun activities.

All the children got a chance to cook either jam tarts or fairy cakes and then we all sat down together to have a very special lunch.

Term 3: Stone Age

  Term 3 and 4 letter

This term we will be learning lots of amazing facts about the Stone Age.

We have already done research about cave paintings and designed our own.

Here we are using authentic methods to recreate our artwork.

Horrible Histories - Amazing Assembly

We were so impressed with the amount of adults that came to see our assembly, however, if you were unable to come to school that afternoon, here are some photographs of our rehearsal.
