Long Term Curriculum Plan
The following link will enable you to view our long term curriculum plan. This shows the subjects that pupils will cover during each year. It is also important to state that whilst the plan indicates coverage within a year, we do view this as a working document and teachers will on some occasions change the order that they teach subject coverage in to best meet the needs of the children.
Please do look out for termly newsletters that inform you about subject coverage for that term.
We are currently updating our R.E syllabus as a result of Oxfordshire’s newly published agreed syllabus. This will soon be updated on the long term plan.
We currently use the Read, Write Inc Phonics scheme to teach reading.
Hardwick School Curriculum Statement on Assessment
Here at Hardwick we have developed our own assessment programme that tracks pupil progress against expected age related learning goals, identifying pupils who are emerging, expected or exceeding against age related expectations. Teachers are using assessment documents to monitor progress against the new expectations and inform planning.
We believe that assessment needs to be an ongoing process that ensures teachers accurately meet the needs of all pupils; therefore our assessment system will be based upon rigorous teacher assessment, with the new statutory tests taken at the end of KS1 and KS2 in 2016.
